Garry Moore, the founder of Keep It Pumping, knows how vital CPR & First Aid can be. After having a quadruple bi-pass and cholesterol over 396 this 62-year-old retired law enforcement officer is giving back to his community once again.
"I wanted to become a CPR & First Aid instructor because my family has a history of coronary heart disease and the training my wife was getting for her business was not good," says Garry. Gary's wife, Susan is a certified childcare provider. "A child is the most precious thing in some people's lives." "It is important that child care providers get trained well in CPR & First Aid." Garry will train you in CPR & First Aid right in your own home. "Your home is an environment that you can learn at your speed and capabilities," says Garry. Garry's motto is "Make sure you KEEP IT PUMPING until emergency services arrive. The satisfaction of saving a life is incredible! Schedule your in-home CPR & First Aid Class today at KeepItPumping.net. Aaron Blodgett sold his Modeling & Talent Agency to refurbish furniture. Aaron does more than just sell furniture. He buys table tops, dressers, wall tables and refinishes them. "I get the furniture from thrift stores, the side of the road, garage sales and word of mouth," says Aaron. Aaron then sands, stains or paints the items and sells on Craigslist and Facebook. Aaron works by and for himself. "My business has snowballed over the last three years." "It has given me the opportunity to meet many people. I get to learn about their lives and make new friends", states Aaron. “I didn’t appreciate how much work it was and how much she did for me my whole life. My mom hemmed our clothes, made bridesmaids dresses for my sister’s weddings, and made hats, mittens, and scarfs for the family”, says Justina Bird.
Justina and her mother have taken that talent for knitting and sewing and started J Bird Crafts. Hats, scarves, mittens, cowls, blankets, towels, and pillowcases are among the items they knit and sew. Typically they can knit two hats each day. Most of their time is spent preparing. “That time goes fast when spent with family,” states Justina. “This helps me relax from my stressful full-time job, and I get to spend time with my mom” states Justina. Justina expanded her business by learning ‘wire wrapping’ through a community education course she and her mother attended. “My mom and I take great pride in giving back.” We donate fire retardant pillowcases to the Farmington Fire Department, and sock/t-shirt hats and scarves to local cancer patients," says Justina. J Bird Crafts promote through Facebook, word of mouth, neighborhood signs, and home events. To host a home event, you can contact Justina on Facebook at JBird Crafts or call her at 612.968.4904. |
